Bye-bye, boredom!

from JSC

Do you dread going to the office every day? If the prospect of work no longer excites you, maybe it’s because you’ve nailed yourself to a dead-end job. But there’s hope. Here’s what you can do to unstuck yourself and get that spring back in your step whenever you head for work.

Don’t be afraid to ask. You may have unwittingly given others the impression that you’re content in your position because you’ve never spoken about how you really feel. Now is the time to let your superior know that you’re bored, that you’re ready and willing to take on more challenging tasks. Taking on bigger responsibilities will keep your adrenaline pumping again-and may succeed in making management give you a second look.

Extend yourself. Sometimes, it’s our own fault that we’re caught in a rut. Have you become too complacent on the job, afraid to leave your comfort zone? Have more initiative. Dress smart. Volunteer for high-profile projects. Brush up on new skills and development. Keep reinventing yourself. Don’t allow yourself to fall behind in the self-improvement department.

Hone your skills for a coveted job. You may have been overlooked by the promotions committee because you lack some skills needed for a higher position. Find out what qualities are required for the job you want. If you need more technical knowledge, consider taking night studies to get the know-how and, more important, the certification to back up that know-how.

Make a lateral move. It may seem a circuitous route to the top, but it just might work. If movement in your department has all but stopped, try a sideways move to escape an untenable situation. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears sharp for more promising openings elsewhere within your company. It may mean staying in the same job level and receiving the same salary, but it might offer more in terms of challenges, responsibilities, training and, yes, prospects for promotion.

Leave as a last resort. And if you’ve tried everything and nothing works, your best action may simply be to move on. Some things just don’t work out, through no fault of your own. Your boss may just be blind to your strengths. Or there’s really no room for more at the top. Or you may just be in the wrong job at the wrong time. There are so many factors you are not privy to and over which you have no control. What you know is how you feel. And when you’re sure that you’re no longer happy in your job, it’s best to take whatever concrete step is necessary to help yourself.

Where are you? (Où êtes-vous?)

by Natalie
album: Natalie (2005)

[Justin Roman *spoken]
I know you're out there baby
Somewhere...

[Justin]
There's someone out there for me
(I know there's somebody out there)
I know she's waiting so patiently
Can you tell me her name?
(Won't somebody tell me her name?)
*This life long search is gon' drive me insane
How does she laugh, how does she cry?
What's the colour of her eyes?
Does she even realize I'm here?
Where is she, where is she, where is she?
Where is this beautiful girl?
Who is she, who is she?
Who's gonna complete my world?
Where is she, where is she?
Where is this beautiful girl?
Who is she, who is she?
Who's gonna complete my world?

Da da da da da da da
Da da da da da
Da da da da da da da
Where are you?

[Natalie]
I'm starin' out at the sky
(I see you baby)
Praying that he will walk in my life
Where is the man of my dreams?
(I'm right here) Yeah, yeah
I'll wait forever, how silly it seems
How does he laugh, how does he cry?
What's the colour of his eyes?
Does he even realize I'm here?
Where is he, where is he, where is he?
Where is this beautiful guy?
Who is he, who is he?
Who's gonna take me so high?
Where is he, where is he?
Where is this beautiful guy?
Who is he, who is he?
Who's gonna take me so high?

La la la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la la la
Where are you?

[Justin]
There's someone out there for me
(There's someone out there for me)
I know she's waiting so patiently
(So patient)
Can you tell me her name?
(Can you tell me his name?)
This life long search is gon' drive me insane
(That's right)

[Natalie]
How does he laugh, how does he cry?
What's the colour of his eyes?
Does he even realize I'm here?

[Justin]
Where is she, where is she, where is she?
Where is this beautiful girl?
Who is she, who is she?
Who's gonna completely my world?

[Natalie]
Where is he, where is he, where is he?
Where is this beautful guy?
Who is he, who is he?
Who's gonna take me so high?

[Together]
La la la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la la la
(I know you're out there)
La la la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la la la
Where are you?

[Justin*Spoken*]
I'm gonna look all over the world baby
'Cause I know you're out there
And I know it might sound crazy
But I think I love you

[Together]

(Where are you?)

Sandalan

by 6 Cycle Mind
album: Panorama (2005)

Kanina pa kitang pinagmamasdan
Mukha mo’y di maipinta
Malungkot ka na naman

Kanina pa kitang inaalok nang
Kuwentuhang masaya
Parang sa’yo’y balewala

Sandali nga
Teka lang
May nakalimutan ka
Di ba’t pwede mo akong iyakan

Sige lang
Sandali ka na
At wag mong pipigilan
Iiyak mo na ang lahat sa langit
Iiyak mo lang ang lahat sa akin

Andito lang ako naghihintay
Lagi mong tatandaan
Di ka naman nag-iisa

Andito lang ako makikinig sayo
Sa buong magdamag
Sa’kin di ka balewala
Sige lang
Sige lang sige lang

Tears

"There was a study done where a control group of 100 people were divided
into two.

50 people watched a very funny, tears-of laughter type movie.
50 watched a very sad and tears of compassion type movie.

At the end of the sessions researchers collected the "happy tears" and
the "sad tears" with eye droppers.

They found that "happy tears" are made up of brine...salt water and not a
great deal else.

However the "sad tears" were found to contain the very same chemicals and
enzymes that are found in tumours, ulcers and other such lumps and bumps
and sicknesses through out the body.

This test concluded that the body, when crying in sadness etc is
literally flushing out all of the toxic-chemicals that accumulate and are a part of
the sadness /heart ache experience.

Therefore if one holds back those tears, those toxic-waters will find
somewhere else to deposit themselves.....and prolonged
lack-of-crying-release will guarantee that the body will accumulate a
huge amount of internal pollution and toxicity that should have been released
through the tears........is it any wonder that the eyes sting so much
when we hold back our tears?"

"Thanks for sharing Donnapet!"
